Default cc305 and 1:5 or 1:6 rockers?

i have the cc 305 with 114lsa getting cranes spring and retainer kit p/n (10308-1 and 99893-16) i hear getting 1:6 rockers wiht stock heads is not the best idea to much lift and you start brekaing ****? is this true>? if so will i be fine with my stock 1:5 ones for now? also what other parts will eb needed this car is my daily driver in the summer, thanks alot guys

so you think i should be running 1:6? is it nessecary?

that's definitely not true.....99% of people run 1.6s.

off the top of my head, you'll need an upgraded timing set, replacement stock lifters wouldn't be a bad idea either. If you plan on changing the opti or upgrading to an electric water pump, now would be the time.

I'm running the CC305 with 1.6 crane rockers. I have a stock timing chain and stock lifters. I am running dual comp cam valvesprings though.

for you to go double roller you'd have to get an electric water pump at least. i'd just get an OEM replacement if neccessary.

Also if you go double roller you NEED the a VENTED opti spark, the cam sprocket is made for the 95-97 opti's so add at least another 350 for a opti if you get it from Sam Taylor

OEM replacement isn't made for use over 6000 RPMs and will stretch over time. Your choices are basically either:

1) Electric water pump + Double roller timing set. $240 for both, +8-10rwhp

2) LT4 Extreme Duty timing set. ~$300, +0rwhp.

right on yeah for saftey i will be running cranes spring and retainer kit but no rockers or lifters as of yet, just gotta go easy on it for now i suppose
