if you have a stock 10 bolt I dont suggest launching it at all on a sticky tire.

here's my setup.
moser 12 bolt, 4.10, spec stage 3 clutch, 28" M/T, 6,000 RPM dump. dead hooked and clutch said bye bye. we'll try it again in spring once the built trans goes in.

6600rpm..... off the revlimiter. it'd bog even then. this was with headers, cutout, and lid being the only power mods. also only had 3.73 gears at the time. when you get a good rear end, go straight to atleast a 4.30 gear if you have a manual. highway rpm is still acceptable and you can use 5th in town with good gears

lol, ya i got 3 passes. i made one pass launching at 4,500rpm and it bogged. i stepped it up to 5,500rpm next run and it bogged again resulting in a 1.7 60ft. so i said screw it and launched it at 6,000 and the clutch slipped horribly. and had to limp it home.
