Default positrac

So I got a 2000 ss last month. Haven't started on the mods yet, but I noticed that when I turn off the trac control and powerbrake the car, only one wheel spins. Does a 2000 ss have some type of LSD or positraction? If it does, why only one wheel spin?

If not, I suppose that needs to go on the list when I do gears and tranny mods.

Thanks for the help!

IIRC all of the v8's came with some type of posi. Your posi is probably just burned out and needs replacing or upgrading, thus the one wheel spin.

well it should have a limited slip diff from the factory which uses friction discs, but the previous owner might have burned them up or possibly from lack of diff oil changes gm recommends every 10,000-15,000 miles haha and possibly not known to add the limited slip additive that must be added to the oil so your clutch pack will work properly

Default Thanks. I will try

the fluid replacement.

But I wonder how expensive a new lsd unit would be... If I'm going to do gears anyway, is there alot more involved with a new lsd?
