not a real good comparison if you ask me i mean the hotcam is 218/228 is it not? and the gm847 is something like 234/244 with higher lift numbers on a heavily modified car i would definitely go with the gm 847 lots more potential

kind of a dumb comparison like someone else said these cams are no where near the same why would you even try to compare them? gm847 is a beast vs the hotcam is an oldschool very mild cam

I dont think he will have the car for much longer cause he has had 5-6 cars in the past 2 months! He wrecked his 04 Cobra he had and then a bunch of other stuff, now he has this and a diesel ford truck, but like I said I dont think he will have either for more than 1 more week.

I own a hot cam and I see it as a apples to oranges comparison. I like my hot cam, i almost went 11's (12.084) on it with stock suspension, auto, 10 bolt, nittos, 3705 race weight at a crappy track. I get decent gas milage, emissions friendly, and street friendly power band.

The GM847 is the opposite of the hotcam.

I wanted something in the middle (cc305, cc503, gm846 etc etc) I ended up getting a Bret Bauer cam due to my criteria (restrictions)

Hotcam if you want a mild cam and if you want to go wild then the GM 847 is your cam.

no offence man but i did 344/356 with shorty edelbrocks, stock head and hot cam.

just dont think stock heads and a big cam are going to make anymore power then a small cam with stock heads.
once you get ported heads thats where the bigger cam will shine

Plus most of the big cams make a lot of their power up top on the power band. Unless your valve train can handle the RPM load your just pissing in the wind.

true that, match your cam to your heads and supporting mods. Why leave power on the table and sacrafice other things like driveability and gas.

No offence to either of you, but the little Crane 210/224 has made 340+ rwhp with stock heads and intake. As you said, "just dont think stock heads and a big cam are going to make anymore power then a small cam with stock heads."
