9” coming through the floor!

9” coming through the floor!
I just got a 9". I put a Detroit locker in it and its pretty noisy for street driving.
I also didn’t know I had to 'clearance' anything and I’ve been trying to figure out why its so dam noisy. Also every now and again when I really get on it sounds like it’s going to come through the floor.
Well....after some close inspection I found it was coming through the floor.
I'm 1" lowered and found about 5 places where the tk arm was rubbing and one place where the rear was hitting. I also put the rear tk arm bolts in backwards and the thread side of the bolt was hitting the tunnel. (I’m as smart as a box or rocks!) I think a good hammering should solve most of my problems, I’m ganna do that this weekend, and I think I’m going to sell my locker and get a track loc, I here there not as noisy.
Should quiet down after its not rubbing the floor though.
The metal on metal really transmits the gear noise like it’s in my head.
Anyone want a 31 spline -n- case center section, everything is new except for the case, Richmond 3:50's new bearings, new Detroit locker ect. ?? 200miles.

I'd suggest getting the interference worked out before you sell off the locker. Any sounds that are coming from the locker are going to be magnified through the body where the rear is making contact. Bob

Mine's fits a 8.8 perfect, no hitting of the tunnel at all, but I don't know how it would work on a 9".
I do know this, the original TA mount for a BMR TA put the TA too far to the DS, so I made a new on that moved it back to the center of the car. The problem is that the pumpkins on 9", 12 bolt, and 8.8 are much bigger than the 7.5" 10 bolts, so TA's made to work with the stock TA mount wind up being farther to the DS, resulting in hitting the tunnel.

I’m changing them to.
I’m getting a poly/rod end setup.
If that don’t help then poly/poly.
Another thing.........
From my pre-lim check, my back tires seem to be toed out 3/16" from the front of the tire to the back.
I want to have an alignment shop take a look.
That would not be good. Its a Moser housing and axels.

If I dont like the poly/rod end setup Im getting a set
of those.
Cyborg..
I did a nice wheel hop burnout the other day, I think that clearenced out most of it. One more should do it.
Its winter time so....no rush..... I think Ill have the bugs out by spring.

mine hits, but only when the suspension travels far up (like bottoming out). It has broke a small hole through the body but not bad at all, I just sprayed a little underbody coating and take care not to hit big bumps

Bottoming out can be deadly if you going fast.
Don’t know about your rig but I’m sure it does at least 160... minimum...
You may not do 160 often but...
I just don’t like the idea of bottoming real hard and skipping of the road.
It only takes one big bump you couldn't avoid.
I just used the same method that got my 325/30/18's to fit.
a b.f.h. and no mercy. Still waiting for the salt to wash away on the NJ roads so I can test it out.

Banged out the spots where it was hitting, added poly/solid lca's and phr.
Got to test it last weekend, its much better, still some gear wine but not nearly as bad, and no more banging on the floor. Gave it a good thrashing, didn’t hit once. Did donuts, 3000 rpm clutch drops, got sideways in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, did a 75mph smoker, and ran 4th gear till she bounced off the rev limiter.
You know…
a typical sunday drive
