I went to a local auto upholstery shop and they had a bunch of rolls of different types of carpets to choose from. You may want to try that route.

I just installed some carpet and I'd say the entire roll, from firewall to rear deck, weighed like 15 lbs max. Unless you get something **** you won't really find carpet that's way lighter than another type.
