Default LT1 Newbie....

I just bought a roller from a guy on her. Has NO motor. has a TH400, 4000 converter, trans break, 9in, 3.70's. FULL TUBLAR SUSPENSION! Car is around 3300lbs with 200lb driver....I am trying to get it in the 10's on motor alone then spray it and go 9's......The car has run 9.76@139 with the old LT1 396 strocker.

I was wondering if a FIRST GEN motor would fit in these cars? I friend of mine is selling a BADASS motor out of his 69 camaro. The car is going to be carbed...If the motor will fit in there, what do I do about headers? Will the standered LT1 long tubes fit in the car?? I am plannin on doing a 383ci strocker with a set of AFR 220's....with a big solid roller cam. the car will be driven on the street, so I was wanting some pump gas friendly compression, which it has....

Also, what cam would yall suggest? the car will be run on motor alot and on spray about the same....Wanting to go 10's on motor shouldn't be to hard with a 383ci and the right setup....let me know what yall think.
