Did 98's have different Valve covers?
Broke the PCV hose from the intake to the valve covers on my high mileage 98, and my friend gave me his old one to replace mine, problem is, the one fitting that goes to the drivers side valve cover is completely different. Why is this and what can i do about it. Both cars are 98 6-speeds

All 98's had perimeter bolt valve covers. The 99-02 had center bolts valve covers. All 98's are interchangable and all 99-02's are interchangable. The only way they could be different is if you are not putting them on the right way, or he has center bolt covers and a different set of heads. Does the valve cover have like 10 bolts that go around the edge of them or a few going right down the center?

if it slides into the valve cover then it is not a 98 the 99-02 had a grommet where you slide in the hose. i had the same issue happen to me recently. the whole pcv hose just crumbled up in certain places. i am currently using some pcv hose with some clamps from pep boys and it works lovely. only $15 after all is said and done.
