I think it's just the cam where the cable hooks up. One is smaller.

1) smaller cam where cable hooks on older throttle bodies allows it to open faster
2) the casting is a little different and the newer ones look slightly different

any year throttle body will work with any year car though, it doesnt matter. my car is a 98 and i have a 2001 throttle body on it.

I recently read a post where someone was trying to swap a 98 tb to a newer car and had to modify it to work.

The hard coolant pipe coming off the TB on the passenger side is different on the older TBs as well.

the coolant pipe isn't an issue though. The bend is just a little different.

I think 98-99s had a smaller cams and using a the bigger cam TB on an older car will cause the butterfly to be open even when the throttle isn't be touched.

But you can swap out the cams and the shaft and use any year TB you want

So anything from an 00-02 will work on your car without modding.
