Default rough estimate for a small cam @ HPE or MTI?

my boss has a 98 A4 t/a, and he was wondering around what it would run to buy a small cam and have it installed/tuned?
just something like an ls6 or other mild cam. any rough ideas?

thanks

MTI does have a large selection of cams to fit pretty much anyones taste/goals. The only cams that Ive seen HPE push are the "R" and "S" cams, and that seems bigger than what hes looking for, not saying that they dont have any smaller cams though.

to answer your question, mti runs $90/hr, you will probly spend close to 1k for install and tune (tune alone is 500).

Yup and then when it gets screwed up you can pay even more to have it fixed second time around..... just have it done by someone who knows what they are doing it instead of being cheap. it is well worth it. If you are willing to by the cam from mti and have it installed there i'm sure they will work out a package deal.

We actually don't push any cams in particular, but we have a few that are more popular than others, obviously...

No matter what size cam you get, it's all gonna be the same price. We charge 1775 + tax for cams installed and tuned. Further questions call us at 281-448-1300.

So, people on this board don't know what they are doing? Seth (he's a member here) and I installed his C1, and neither of us had ever done a cam swap on an LS1 before. His car has ran fine for 2 years now and it saved him at least $500 in labor cost.

But hey if the 500 bucks that that important to ya then more power to ya....

I second that Chris. I have seen some work of the so called " LS1 Tech private installers" come through the shop that I could not beleive members on here praise them so much about the work that they do. Hey I guess it all looks nice and clean after a few 12 packs of Miller Lite anyways right since that's how most of these guys get paid for the work they do in their Moms' garage.
