im looking at a 99 TA. it has 40k miles, interior & exterior perfect, a4, and they want 14k for it. do you guys think its worth it? i took it on a test drive and it drives great. 14k is the lowest they will go though. they wanted 16k for it, but i got it talked down to 14, they said that they bought it from the auction fo 13.5k and its a dealer. should i wait until a better deal comes around, or is this a good/average deal? any help appreciated

you can probably find better but that's not too bad....make sure you want an auto before you just go buy one though, and is it just a t/a or a ws6?

I found my 01 ss w/ 47k on it for $12,000. It needed tires, rotors and pads. I saw 100s of F-body LS1s for sale for thousands more than that, so I jumped on it.

Go buy that bad boy, if it is EXACTLY what you want. I barely talked myself out of buying a couple that weren't exaclty what I was looking for, and I am soooooo glad I kept shopping.

thats high for a 99. i garan-damn-tee they didnt give no 13,5 for it. MAYBE 11,5. but if you want it, by all means get it. youre not getting fucked so please dont let that be what you think from my post. im just stating that no dealer would give 13,5 for a 99 at an auction. wholesale on a 99 is like 10k or less.

Yeap, it seems high too me also... There's a local dealer that has a 1999 red T-top Trans am, 6 speed, 99,xxx miles, leather, all power. Sticker price on window is $9,500......

i belive its just a regular TA, but it has the tall spoiler, and it feels like it has the 3.23's or what ever the ws6 has. just no ws6 hood. leather, power interior. whats the vin code to see if its a ws6? i've thought about it, and i cant find any low mileage m6's around that would interest me enough to take on a test drive. the a4's seem to be better with mainenance and reliability from what i've read. and coming from owning a stealth that went through 2 clutches, misc. tranny parts, and then blew the tranny completly up in under 2 years of driving it, i really want something thats reliable and i wont have to worry about being out of a car. i don't really know alot about these trannys, but i've read that the a4's are easier on the diffs, and i've had my share of problems with diffs in the past.
i figure with a 3500 stall,full exhaust, and lid i'll be happy for a while. plus when my friends see that its auto they will think they can beat me, and it will be much more fun to see the look on their faces when i walk all over them! my sisters boyfriend comes to mind when i say this. he has a 98 mustang gt with a 01 engine, intake, and exhaust. he was telling me that if a TA dosen't have a six speed its a girls car. I laughed at him and asked how he would like to get walked by a girls car and all he could say was "if its not a ws6 its slow" he got destroyed by my nieghbors ws6 the day after he bought it, so he probably didn't know how to drive the best, and he still beat him! lol

i have a 99 TA auto and i love it. its not a WS6 but it is snappy because it has 4.11 gears and a performance programer. Im going to race an 02 WS6 auto sometime just to see what will happen some pple think mine will win but we will see hopefully. I say get it and smoke him. I had no problem smokeing an 02 GT 5spd with my 97camaro LT1 auto when i had it.
