Well the gap between the first two and the 224 are pretty big. There are alot of different cam choices between those.

First what are your goals for the car? What do you use it for? Let me know that and then I, or any of us, can help you figure out what would be best for you.

Also I am assuming you have an m6 with the 4.10s? Correct?

With 4.10's go big, you'll be able to use it.

With 4.10's there will be no "Streetable" issues, 'cause you have so much more torque now (a lot more mechanical advantage, anyway, which feels like a lot more torque...).

Just porting your stock heads (99 = 853 casting, right?) won't get you a whole lot more flow/HP, and you'll definitely restrict the big cams intake a lot, which means you won't see near the HP gains they are capable of.. So, if you're going to stay stock on the heads, you might want to just go with the 224 cam. You can still make a ton of power with the 224 and stock heads, especially if you spray it with a small shot (75-100)...

it appears that the stock cam is your best choice.

Hey, don't sugar-coat it man, tell him what you really think

[EDIT] seriously, good advice from SouthFL.02.SS. It does seem like you have a little studying to do before choosing a cam, unless you're feeling lucky...

When you study the thread above keep in mind that all the mods you add are inter-dependent, and you want to avoid buying individual items that don't fit into the overall plan. Why? Because parts chosen wisely compliment each other and parts chosen poorly can work against each other, even when the indivdual parts may be advertised as "The Best" for that part. In this case "Best" does NOT neccessarily refer to you and your car's plan...

Sorry if this sounds way too basic/simplistic for you, but there is such a big difference in the cams you suggested that it doesn't seem like they fit into the same plan, which indicates you don't yet have a sense of what you want your cam to be able to do.

An example, you installed 4.10's, cool, I love mine. But why did you install 4.10's? I did it in preparation for installing a big cam, so that I could:

1) take advantage of the higher power band of a big cam
2) spin the engine up quicker

The other side of the coin is that I lost gas mileage, and my f-body is no longer the high-speed cruiser it was before. But that's OK, because it fits in my plan for drag racing and quickness (that's "streetable" for me, but not for most "I want to be streetable" folks)... If I had been planning just a fast street car, I would have put smaller gears in, and I'd be choosing a cam like the TR224, F2-F6, etc., plus different mods that compliment the smaller cam...

Check out my plan: http://chrisnrobinsmith.com/transam.htm

It is a work in progress, and I make changes all the time as my plan refines and I get smarter...

Man while I was away these guys really gave you alot to think about. Yeah I too believe that you need to do a ton of research on cams and heads, the way they affect drivability, the engines powerband, etc, etc.

Honestly I think that you don't want a cam nowhere near the specs of a Trex. I would cap it off at the MS3, and that is pretty damn big itself.

I myself had a TSP 225/225 .589/.589 on 112 in a stalled auto. I really liked the cam, it pulled hard all the way through, I could feel absolutely no loss in lowend or anything. But it did leave me wishing I had went a bit larger. And this round with the m6, I am gonna do just that...low to mid 230 range, and some great heads.

Do some research and see what others have said about the cams they have, but I think you would be happy with a cam somewhere between the 224 and the low to mid 230 durations.

Good luck!

Why not get a custom ground cam? It doesn't make any sense to get an off the shelf cam that "may" work. I can tell you first hand, I went with an off the shelf cam for testing, then, I had a custom cam made and picked up 28hp. Bigger or smaller is not always better. What does matter is matching your config with a cam that will work based on what you have. My .02

I have a Thunder racing 230/224. And it has been a great cam. But now I'm ready for the next level. So I'm going with a 232/240.

I would recomend starting with a pretty mild cam first! And then that leaves room for improvement a year or two down the road.
