the iron 6.0 is definitely strong but since you're mostly going to drive it around on the street your motor is probably not a max effort so i'd say just get a dish 402 ci ls2 with the eagle/mahle combo with hell fire rings and you'll be fine. how much hp are you wanting?

What is the main difference in the LS1 and LS2?
Can i go from a LS1 to a LS2 with little trouble?

bore is teh big difference that and the ls2 has slightly better knock sensors. the heads/accessories are interchangeable between the two

There is a general issue with hooking the LS2 knock sensors to your computer as well as the difference in the cam signal.
If you only used an LS2 block, but built it with LS1 parts you can't mount your knock sensors and have to remove the knock sensor behavior from your computer.
Consider this: if you are boosting then you can easily make your power goals without having to use the LS2 block, hence no transplant issues.

Mild? I'll assume that means 8-10psi max? Well, stock crank with better rods and pistons with good ARP bolts and studs.
But if you are building a fresh motor, you might want an Eagle stroker kit which gives you a better crank with more cubes. And of course, you can then build it for the boost in such ways as just a little more piston clearance and ring gap and dished pistons for less compression.
