Default what's some good foam or pad for a sound deadener??

I wasnt sure if I should ask this in another forum or not.
I'm just looking for some kind of cheap pad or foam to keep out the sound. I have FATMAT already. It's very thin, so I wanted to add alittle something.
I read somewhere about Jute, but wasnt sure.
Let me know if there is something easy that can be done.

There is a tread in the stereo section about this, might want to check over there. Also you can layer the product and several people do that.

Dynamat is the sound control king. Used in stereo application mostly but good for numerous things.

250 sq. ft of Dynamat from firewall to taillights, on top of spray in liner!!!! Looking forward to a sound tight car!! Then the heavy JUTE Carpet padding will go down, then the aftermarket 1500 series carpet with a full rubber back...

If you will notice closely in my post I already have FatMat. I am just looking for some kind of carpet to help keep out the noise. Where are you getting your Jute from?
Im not interested in the frost king by the way.

I used edead2 elementaldesigns.com and I'd recommend it. I only used it on the trunk area and made the bass sound clearer.

not tryin to steal the thread but how much actual dynamat do you need, and i mean ACTUALLY, not just a layer to say it's all covered, but to get the noises down noticable.

What about the padding that goes underneath carpets in homes? I imagine that is pretty cheap in large quantities...

Frost King. Do one car w/ one roll. Costs $14 and weighs 2lbs at most. I put it down from my front seats back and made a huge difference.

For under the carpet, I have heard that a 1/2" sheet of closed-cell Volara foam rubber on top of the sound deadening works well. Here's a link: http://www.foamorder.com/closedcell.html
