If you have a personal account, there is no fees charged to incoming transactions, however, you won't be able to accept credit card payments. The only way to accept credit card payments is to upgrade to a premiere or business account, but by doing so, you'll have fees added to each transaction you recieve whether it comes from a bank account or credit card. That is the reason I don't upgrade. I only accept instant transfers (bank account) so that I don't have any fees, plus its instant.

I use Paypal a lot, so it would affect me more than it would you. If they aren't able to send you a instant transfer, then have them send you a money order or cashier's check. Another thing about the fees, its either gonna come out of your pocket or you're going to have to charge each individual who is buying from you an additional 3% and not everyone wants to do that. The easiest thing would just have them send you an instant transfer. If they don't have a bank account on their Paypal account, it only takes 2-3 business days to put one on and verify. Your choice.

ya well i sold some textbooks and they all need them asap. and i dont want them to get upset and find others.. . plus, if they don't buy mine its going to be harder to sel lnow that schools pretty much starting.. i've probably already frustrated them.. i looked on paypal and it says that i can upgrade .. and then downgrade. ONCE.. so i might have to do that..
i made a mistake and said that i prefered paypal on my listings. and it has a whole bunch of pictures of credit cards. it was my mistake. so i'll eat the cost
next time i'll just sell them back to the damn book store.. this hasnt been worth it
thanks for the help drag

is it possible to open 2 accounts? like change to a premier account and then open another regular one, so that way you can just do the credit card ones on the pemier and charge the buyer the 3% and do everything else on the normal one? just throwing the idea out not sure if you can open another one

What are you trying to do? If it is for website payments, then there are more integrated ways of doing it, but may cost a little more up front. You may also want to check out 2checkout.com but I am not sure what you are wanting.

im just wanting to accept a couple peoples payments from ebay, bc isaid i'd accept credit cards..
i didnt know that ihad to upgrade. i just thought i'd just charge me for the CC transaction..
by the way, bigsteele. i was thinking the same thing, but since they do it by email address. im sure that you could do it if you use different email addresses. either way i upgraded. no big deal i guess. i usually send money anyways. and if i receive money. even though its gay to pay a fee. its not that much $, if i recieve $1000, its only like $30, not that big of a fee for what advantages it gives you..
thanks for the help guys
