when my engine is on and idling, i get this super annoying squeak coming from the engine. im guessing its a belt, but im not sure. idk if i should state more info regarding the nature of the squeak... but thats about it. i dont think that oiling it would be to smart. any one else have this problem? maybe the fact that its 3 degrees out every night, which causes the belt to become ridgid and hard, then when it heats up it squeaks? hmm :)

maybe your tensioner, or just old belts, and DON"T use "belt dressing"

A most excellent resolve to the constant GM tensioner problem!!
I did the same as anyone else , changed belts and tensioners several times before I was turned on to this tensioner ! Also do not forget to order the pulley needed for it ! The pulley is not on the web site , so call and ask !

I had that squeal. I changed the idler pully only and it went away. You could remove the plastic seal on the pully and repack the bearings if you want and save the $15.

If that doesn't work it could be the tensioner pulley. I purchased both but only needed the idler pulley.

I bought the belt, and it hasn't resolved the problem. Last weekend, I took the belt off the idler pulley, and spun the pulley. The bearing was definitly shot, I could hear it. My car is going to be sitting in the parking lot of TTU behind my dorm until the part comes in and I can fix it.
