Default Spal extreme fan for Procharger shroud

I looked into the 16" extreme (3000) CFM Spal fan,
I can get one on E-bay for $189 + shipping

Is there another fan , Brand , that will work and fit on the Procharger sheet metal fan shroud that might be as good or better but less $$$
thats a lot of money for just a fan.

Please let me know
and if someone is using something else
thank you

I have a 16" SPAL High Performance straight blade fan for sale, its not as good as the Spal Extreme but its alot better than the old stock ATI supplied fan. I think its 3,000 cfm for the extreme and 2,350 for the high performance

That cfm is lower than ATI's fan, which is 2400 (per ATI customer service).

Everyone knows how bad ATI's customer service department is.

I have the SPAL 16" Extreme, working great for me - direct bolt-in replacement for the ATI 16" fan.

That is only a 130 watt fan not sure how dense the ati cores are but that fan is not enough.

The 189.00 bucks for that fan is a great price but honestly we tested the high performance fan and the extreme one on several different cores with several different thicknesses and fin count. This was also done in several different zones of the cores themselves. Honestly the money difference between the two and the performance it showed was not worth the money to us. These fans were designed on race cars that were looking for every last ounce of performance and money was not a concern. If you are on a budget then the extra money could be better spent else where in the car.

What do you reccommend for a good cooling system for the ATI Procharger? Price?

Does anyone have any pics of these fans installed or what not????
I thougt we could reuse the stock fans on a LT1 and LS1 setup, do we have to run an aftermarket Fan setup????

The ATI kits come with a new shroud and fan, but some folks have problems with high temps after the kit install (especially in warm climates) and need to beef up the cooling.

The stock fans and shroud won't fit because of the ATI head unit and inlet hat.

Does the SLP radiator fit our cars good? How much does the SLP radiator help, what are the coolent temps with the SLP radiator?
can you still bolt up the Procharger fan shroud and the 16" fan with no problems?

Its an exact fit. Its cool here now in SD, temps are 190-195. When it was warmer temps were 200-210. Temps before the fan and radiator were 220-235.

The SPAL fits into the ATI fan shroud. With the existing tabs it was a tight fit. I ordered the tabs for the SPAL and it fit alot better. Rob was able to get his to fit with the existing hardware.

The SPAL is thinner which made it easier to install.

Bang for the buck fan I would say is Maradyne i think we sell those for about a hundred bucks. We have found virtually no difference in the high performance Spal and their M162k. Every one is starting to sell the crap out of these and they even have the same bolt pattern as Spal.

I was able to find some online using Google.

It doesn't say if the 3895 CFM rating is static or not.
