Default question about 4 channel abs systems

hey guys i have a 2002 ws6. on my car i have the 4 channel abs system with traction control. my question is, what year or option did the 4 channel abs come with, because i had a 99 z28 and a 2000 forumla that only had a 3 channel abs system. i am looking a buying a 2000 trans am ws6. did that car come with a 4 channel abs? thanks guys.

Jon,
TCS (traction control) and ABS = 4 Channel
4 Channel rears have the reluctor rings on the axles.

ABS only = 3 Channel
3 Channel rears have the reluctor ring sandwiched between the diff and ring gear.

To the best of my knowledge this was true on all LS1 F-cars.

what i meant by 4 channel abs system is there is a abs sensor on each wheel. like on the 99 z28 i had and the 2000 formula, there was only 1 abs sensor on the rear which was located on the top of the carrier, but on my 02 ws6 i have 2 sensors for the abs in the rear which has one sensor on each backing plate. so my question is what year or option did the cars have a abs sensor on each backing plate? did the 00 ws6 have it? thanks

The sensor on the backing plate is for traction control...i.e. 4 channel.

Traction control (Camaro-ASR/Firebird-TCS) was an extra option on '98-'02 F-Bodies. Some cars came with traction control, and some didn't. So you could look at two cars from the same year ('98-'02), and 1 car might have a 3-channel while other might have a 4-channel.
