Default Noisy Valvetrain

My LT1 with 166k on it has a nice, clattery valvetrain..it hasnt been run for about six months, maybe I just never noticed it before? It can only be heard at idle, but a barely audible knocking can be heard at idle...and only at idle. It worries me. Has me rethinking any modifications or more strip time.

Car is bone stock BTW. Oil Pressure is solid, hangs around 40 PSI, going up above 50 when you get into upper RPM ranges....

Anyone else notice this?

My car I thought was doing something simular to that. Sounded like just a slight tick, thought a lifter or something. It was a exhaust leak on the back left side of the head..

LT1's make all sorts of valve train noise. But if ur worried take it to a shop and have them check it out.

Yeah, well, it DOES have myriad exhaust leaks, and a cracked manifold. I just need time off from work to install my headers and that will go away.

But the noise I hear is not an exhaust leak.
