Default Wanting to adjust idle?

Hey guys, I've heard of some of you adjusting your idle by tuning your throttle body? I've been wanting to lower my idle a bit but I didn't want it to mess any of my tuning up? Wasn't for sure if I had to get it all done by computer tuning it or if I could do a little tuning myself?

Why do you want to lower the idle? What's it idling at?

You can rig it to idle higher but not lower than the set idle.

It must be changed with programming. The idle air controller is what controls the idle speed!

That's what I was affraid of. It currently idles at 1000rpm's but I'd like to lower it to around 700rpm's.

Make sure your TB cable isn't jammed up. It shouldn't be stuck at 1000rpm after warm up.

Going by your sig, im guessing your are talking about your 98 WS6 right? In that case, your tach. is a bit mis-leading. If you hook up a scan tool to it, you'll see you are actually idling around 150-200rpms lower than what the tach is showing. It's something weird I have only seen on the '98s.

If someone has messed with the set screw on the TB, that could cause a faster idle, but is not the correct way to obtain it!

I've noticed that on my 98 also.

Yea, I might try to hook up a scan tool to give me a bit more accurate reading. I've heard of the '98's being a bit off but it feels to idle high so I'd just like to see to make sure.
