Default Stock internal 96k+ mile LT1 goes 11.67

Just got back from Bradenton Motorsports Park over on the west coast....

What a day. www.pbfbody.com rented out the track for a day. $42/car, 55 cars so it wasn't bad at all.

I could have made about 20-25 passes if I wanted to, but I let the car sit for awhile just to hang out, let it cool, talk to people, etc.

First run....had nitrous in the line but forgot to re-open the bottle. Sprayed a little bit off the line then the rest of the run I realized it stopped spraying so I let out at the end. 13.7 @ 90 1.6x 60'

Second run....got the bottle nice and warm, hotlapped from the previous run. Was about 82-83 degrees outside at the time of this run.
100 shot - 11.99 @ 110.x 1.58 60' (happy as hell after this one).

Hotlapped it again and ran a 12.1 @ 109.x on a high 1.5x 60'

Let the car cool...put in the 150 jets, warm up the bottle

11.67 @ 114.x 1.54 60'

Ran again but spun real bad.....12.2

I had lots of people coming up to me asking what I had done....there were SO many LS1s, Mustangs, Grand Nationals, etc.
I was the only LT1 in the 11's, and everyone was quite surprised to see that I have 96k+ miles and never had a valve cover off

so the engine is bone stock with: headers, cai, nitrous, ignition box, tune, 160 thermo and an electric water pump. not to mention the stall, rear and gears to help you get it done? good job.

Okay. My engine is not stock. I lied.

Last time I checked, bolt-ons aren't engine mods

Nice times dude.

What gears are you running? I notice your ur on 275/60/15, so I'm guessing your at least on a 4.11?

Nope....3.73. Shifts into OD at 110 with a 26" tire and 114mph with a 28" tire. Probably could have trapped higher on the 150 shot but oh well.

Typically "bone stock" means no modifications at all, just as it came off the assembly line. Nonetheless, Sweet runs in the LT1!

Put it this way Evan Smith took a BONE stock z06 (405hp) and managed a 11.97 thats after a **** load of low 12 runs, he is one of the best manual drivers out there. Now thats BONE STOCK,

great times none the less

Dude i bet youll pick up some et just by switching to some 275/50/15's. That tall sidewall is probably bringing you back down to almost a 3.23.

Also, you probably know this already, but WOT shifts into OD will wreak havoc on your bands, it's a no no.

yup my engine combo back in like 98 was similar to yours.. never had a valve cover off only bolt ons and on a 150 dry shot I ran 11.40@122 mph.... 6 speed car as well... 1.58 60 foot....

With good driving LT1's can make a ton of power.... Good job...

Nice numbers!

for the rest.

the best local best "stock" with N2o is a 11.72.

when I say stock we are talking a 97 Z28 with only a CAI and a NX wet kit UNTOUCHED engine ,trans and stock rear end!

I said stock LT1, not stock Z28. Bolt-ons are not engine mods......sheesh, didn't think I'd get so much ****.

it adds horsepower.. it is a mod.. lol. but none the less... good stuff...

You should try to get into the 11's with just bolt ons.. then add the spray into the mix.

It's my daily driver. I'm not looking to gut the hell out of it...

I don't see how bolt-ons make the engine not stock, but whatever.
