Default question, for fellow turbo cam intrest!!

hello fellow turbo people its nice to be joining the FI section soon!! im going to list what i am going to buy and also i have a question on my cam!!

question for cam is : one has told me my cam would work great for the turbo system ! i dont think so what do you all think!

232 238 595. 605. 114 + 2
i have slight detiontion in 6th gear when i press the pedal down and kinda bog the engine other then that under wot i dont have detonnation

HERE is what i want to buy!! i Dont want to make a newbie FI mistake so please help!(stock block 346)

6 liter 317 heads( i have the comp 921s on my stock heads now im going to trasfer them to the 317s)
maybe new cam..
some sort of t76 turbo kit
racetroix kit with the walbro 225
60 pound injectors

hopeing for 600 to the tires or so!! thanks

I would suggest contacting Cammotion. They have a solid reputation around here and offer cams at a decent price. Call them, tell them your goals, parts, etc, and they will custom grind a cam for your car. That's what I would do if I was in your shoes.

The cam you have would work but it is prolly to big.Especially if you are going to run a stock bottom end and go for about 600hp.Many guys fun smaller turbo cams such as a ls6 or somthing in the mid 220s duration and any where from 550 to 580s lift.That cam might be fine but I could see it hurting the low end.

yea its a totaL HIGH END CAM! wouldnt i need to pul some timing from it to!!?? like -8 degress

i think if you go with a 402/408 that cam would work better. it should work really well then.

well actually later on i will be getting the 408, however i have been in deep though 408 or FI on stock motor then buy 408 what do you all think some of my question are still not answerd if someone can chime in..thanks

That Cam will work but it won't be ideal for a Turbo setup like your's. The heads are a good choice but not neccessary on the stock motor.I would do a LS6 Cam or 220 range Cam with 918 springs(or the one's you have listed) and run the Turbo with atleast 1 255 pump and 60lb injectors. That will get around 600hp.

BTW-this 408ci car runs a 218/230 Cam

Tire's. Just need to make sure the tune is good and it will last awhile.
