Mod bug bites again!
Well, I decided I want to break 450 at the wheels. I think a Fast 90/90 combo and a good set of heads should get me there. I picked up a used Fast 90/90 combo from the For Sale forum here, and I finally decided on a set of heads: the new PRC Stage 2 CNC ported Darts from TSP. Here's the specs on the heads:
2.02/1.60 62cc
Valve Lift Intake
.100" 74
.200" 153
.300" 209
.400" 260
.500" 296
.600" 320
.650" 324
I talked to Jason at TSP and he's gonna start on my set on Monday, and hopefully they'll be ready to go by the end of the week. When he finishes them up he's gonna measure the valve drop and see if they can be milled a bit while still maintaining good PTV clearance with my cam. That 62cc should put me about 10.75:1, but I'd like to shoot for around 11:1. He also recommended .051 cometics for good quench.
I guess I'm kind of sailing in uncharted waters with these heads, but I think they'll be good performers. I haven't seen any out of the box Dart numbers yet, and as far as I know these PRC's are the first CNC'ed Darts available. I have seen numbers from over at CorvetteForums on a set of hand ported Darts that gained 48 HP just changing heads, but that's about it. Jason also offered me a discount if I would be willing to do provide some before and after dyno numbers on these new heads, and of course I had to take him up on that offer.
So, I'll be baselining after the install of the Fast 90/90, and then dynoing again after the head swap. Anybody wanna make a guess as to what my numbers will be, Fast 90/90 and then Fast 90/90 + heads? Closest guess wins a prize!
