Default Supercharging with TR224 112LSA cam and other stuff?

Well, I've found myself getting a nice unexpected bonus and am "supercharger shopping". Actually, more like researching. I want to forced induction, but I'm not sure how my current setup will react to boost. I've heard rumors that the stock bottom end is only good to about 550 flywheel horsepower before rod failure. I'm currently at 435 at the flywheel. I'm also not sure what the best boost level wold be to run at (4psi, 8psi?) or how the cam will react to supercharging. Any help or opinions would be apprecited Mods are listed below:

I have a TR 224/224 .563/.563 112LSA cam, CC 918 springs, titanium retainers, Dynatech LT headers w/ cats, 3" Flowmaster catback with QTP cutout, K&N FIPKII, Textralia OZ700 clutch, UMI panhard rod, LCA's, and torque arm, STOCK heads, STOCK fuel system, STOCK 10 bolt w/ 3.42 gears.

BTW, what ind of oil is used in the ATI kit? I've never found this info posted anywhere. Is it synthetic oil like Mobile-1 orsome special stuff only available from ATI?

the oil they use is specific to their application, i think it was like 24 bucks for a box of 3 bottles.

You need injectors, fuel pump, and a 12-bolt/9in rear..... The only person I've seen throw a hard limit on the stock bottom is Bob from EPP. He likes to keep his customer's cars at 550 RWHP on his Mustang dyno for longevity. For the amount of time he has into this game, I'd tend to go with his experience.

EPP installed my ATI D1SC. I could not be more happy with the service I got and am still getting now from them. I put down 460/440 on there dyno with a similar cam to yours. 224/224 568 114. My car is an A4 with a 12 bolt. I am now changing the cam out for a more boost friendly cam. Good luck with your decision.

You cam will do fine, along with the rest of your mods.Even the 10 bolt can last if you treat it right. The fuel system is the problem. To do it right and give you room to grow you need a pump(or 2), steel braided line,60 lb injectors, possibly a fuel pressure regulator and fuel rails. With all that you'd be set with room to grow.

I put down almost the same exact numbers. 469/431. TR224/ .563 112LSA through a TH-400 and stock rear. I will also be swapping out for a turbo-cam.

Thats pretty cool. There is nothing wrong with these cams they just leave something to be desired with FI. What are you going to switch to? I am going to go with an LPE GT2-3.
