Default 408 Stroker with Boost

ok so tomorrow, i plan on winning the lottery, and when i do, i wanna look more into forced induction. ive been pokin my nose around the FI threads for a while, and ive been seeing a lot of guys running a 408 stroker with a turbo. im just wondering why the 408 or 402 is so popular. if it is just better to go bigger then why not get a 427? or is it mostly due to cost? I also usually see them with turbo setups, i have only seen or heard of one with a supercharger. can anyone give me a little clarity and insight on why this motor is so popular and why so many folks have it? Thanks

From what I've gathered, it's the range of the turbo, that a larger engine doesn't always perform as well. And an iron block 408 is thousands cheaper than a 427. Who cares as long as you're hitting 1000+hp.

If you go 400+ ci, you go big on turbo. A small turbo like a 76GTS or so is a restriction more then anything.

A 408 is cheaper to build than a 427.

ls2's can only be 402's from what I understand, ls1's can be up to 427 with an iron block I believe.
