Both companies make a good rear-end, and people have good things to say about each one. Other people have bad things to say about each one... lol
I've had very few problems with all of the Moser rears that I have sold, and their two day turn around timeframe is very quick, compared to Strange, which takes approx three weeks. Bob

I used to sell both Moser & Strange. Both are good products. I choose to sell only Moser because I liked the fact that they had thicker axle tubes

Playing devil's advocate here but I like my Strange because you can get them fully assembled. No need to worry about having backing plates put on and berrings pressed on etc..
As for which is stronger, I'd say if you are worried about that I'd do it right and get a Billingsly 9in.

You've got another option for your car now abeit Dana rear ends setup w/35+ spline axles among other options.

I think all are good options...each with their own pos/neg aspects. All are going to be strong and take quite a beating before you damage them.

600 rwhp, I'd go for a Moser 9 inch truetrak and throw in an aluminum center to save a little weight. Bob

At that HP/torque level the decision is up to you and what you have in your budget. I have a number of 600-700 rwhp customers running the 12 bolts very, very hard and no problems

I have probably sold 30 Moser 12 bolts in the last year with the Truetrac to customers in the 450 to 500 rwhp level, and I don't know of any of them who have had any problems with them, the Truetrac is a beefy unit. Bob

:Raises hand: M6 with Moser 12 bolt 33 spline axels with 4:33s
I thought I paid for upgraded gears (I didn't want the Richmonds) -didn't realize until after I took the broken Richmonds out that they weren't upgraded. Is it my fault? I don't know - I have about 20 launches on the car, most were from idle, no hard launches yet. It figures that the noisy gears would let go on the first 3,500 RPM launch. I lost 5 teeth and chipped several more. I replaced them with 3.73s. All this was N/A also. I just installed the nitrous.
Now the locker itself is holding up great, I don't know what brand it is.

Hmm, to order a rearend from Moser with Richmond Gears has been an option for some time, and it now cost more than with gears provided by US Gears and Richmond. The Richmond Gears are good gears, hard to say why the teeth broke off, there are only several possibilities that I can think of. One is that the gears were improperly set up, with not enough surface contact. The other possibility would be that the gears had a hardness problem. Bob

both of those scenerios are a possiblity- so the Richmond gears are the upgrade from US Gear? I wonder if I have the TrueTrac...

Yes they are, we have to pay more for Moser to use the Richmond Gears. Sometimes if they don't have the gear ratio in stock from either US Gear, or Motive, I'll pay the extra for Moser to go ahead and use Richmond, just so the rear can still go out on a timely manner. Several years ago, Richmond was Moser's standard gear to use, but they would sometimes get a batch in that would be excessively noisey, so they went with US Gear as their primary gear. I imagine since they reduced the numbers of Richmond Gears they purchased, the price from Richmond went up. Bob

you won't have the problem of the torque arm bolts backing out with a Strange.

The Moser 9" keeps the oem style of using the long bolts for the torque arm. Bob

whats the issue that i hear every1 say if ur gunna get a 12 bolt get anything but moser cuz there is a prob with the tq arm mount? what is the deal with that??? I plan on making 450rwhp+ and im gunna go with a 12 just because its more practical for me since its my DD..i wanna retain my ABS cant with the 9inch since im a 3 channel car. I plan to spray on my car in the future (up to a 200 shot) would a 12 bolt rear hold up? i plan on getting 4.11s, 135o yolk, 33 spline axels, but what unit should i go with? locker, true trac, or something else? thanks
