I put an Eaton posi unit on my car about a year ago...I kept the 3.23 gears that it came with stock. The gears recently started to whine and I was told it was because I did not put shims for the gears or something like that. The gears, in my opinion sound more of a winding sound than whining. Would I be able to make track passes with my gears acting like this? I wanted to use slicks and maybe a 100 shot. Should I worry?
