We are planning on running our Street Legal Classes at each of the ORSCA races this year. The rules are quite simple. All entries must be street legal; our definition of street legal is current registration, insurance, headlights, tail/turn signals, horn, wipers & DOT tires. Of coarse you will be required to have the necessary safety equipment for the times you run. The classes will be run in a heads-up format as long as you don’t break-out. Each car will go through tech for the race track and then it will go through the Year One Street Legal tech. You will register for the class you want to run; once eliminations begin you will not be allowed to change your class.
We will be running five classes of cars:
• OPEN class (anything under 10.00 index) (run on a pro tree)
• 10.00 index
• 11.00 index
• 12.00 index
• 13.00 index
The first race will be in April at Atlanta Dragway during the ORSCA Outlaw 10.5 race and The Year One Experience. As most of you know there are usually TV shows and magazines covering the Year One Experience so this is a good opportunity to get your car on TV (ask Andrew Rogers). I’ll be posting the purses as soon as we get them nailed down, but last year we paid $1000 to win OPEN and $500 runner up in OPEN. Since it is divided into separate classes it should give everyone from the wild street cars to modded daily drivers a chance to have some fun and win some money.
If you have any questions please email me (or post them here) at jeffg@yearone.com
