Default Header / Y-pipe Banging Issue Solved

I just thought that I'd write a quick post on how I fixed my TSP off road y pipe from banging the floor of my car. I took the advice of someone else here that chimed in and said that you loosen your driver side head bolts and pry your y pipe as far as you can from the floor of your car and jam something in there to keep it as far as possible from the floor board that it was banging on...then you retighten your driver side header bolts. My clearance increased from about 1/8 of an inch to about 1/4 to 3/8 of and inch. I have no more banging. The sad thing is that I have my new uninstalled prothane poly engine mounts sitting my workbench that I bought about a week back and don't need then anymore. I'm glad that I didn't need to install them as I heard itl kinda sucks with the headers already installed. Once I install my fuddle 3400 this weekend I'll see if the banging comes back from a more violent launch.

I hope that at least someone finds this useful.

Thunder Racing sells a Mufflex bump stop bracket for $40 that does the same thing.

You need that poly mount more than you realize. If/when you get it put in you will see what Im talking about.

That is the RIGHT way to fix your problem. The whole car will feel so much tighter when driving it.
