I just got this off www.clubrsx.com, seems pretty legit as I have seen this on many other sites. Just wanted to give u guys a heads up:

California Highway Patrol will launch a 30-day speeding ticket frenzy in South Orange County starting January 25, 2006. The state estimates that 22 million dollars will be generated in speeding tickets. 3 million will go to pay California Highway Patrol officer overtime. There will be 90 California Highway Patrol officers on duty at all times patrolling the 7 freeways. They are the following: 73, 55, 133, 241, 57, 5, 605 freeways.

Now 7 mph above the limit can justify a ticket and every California Highway Patrol officers is supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 minutes.

They have issued 50 brand new unmarked Crown Victoria cruisers and they are bringing all their part timers on full time. If you live or work in South Orange County you must take one of their freeways. It's up to you how fast you are doing when they do. This is a test by the CHP to raise the extra funds for the State of California. The wealthy folks of South Orange County can afford this new tax. The California State Legislators dreamed up this law to help close the budget gap or something like that. I was told KICU-FM confirmed all of this. So be safe and don't forget speeding tickets are on you.

Cruise control=65 :bang:

I was on the 5 last night, and it was insane how many cops there were. I saw 6 different people pulled over in a 10 minute span. They're definately on the blitz.. For how long, I dont know..

This is true as I heard about this before the month as well from a chp officer. Either way, no need to test the situation for this month at least.

I'm just glad that I'm paying for this out of my own wallet.....NOT!!! Who cares about theives and murderers, it's all about earning money for CA so they can pay their officers to crack down on streetracing and people doing 7 mi./hr. over the speed limit!!!!!!!!!! Maybe this will also help fund some new mobil smog dyno's and new equipment and training to catch people with illegal modifications?

No, this is not true..... In CA they are only required to have a solid red light to the front. Markings are not needed.

That is why you should always try to pull over in a well lit area with lots of traffic if the car is not marked.... if you are unsure if it's a cop (ie: gas station, shopping center).

Didnt laguna PD have to throw out several years worth of tickets for incorrect paint on their bikes? This was early 90's. Maybe local PD rules are different than CHP.

I'm in the market for a crown vic. 1st mod will have to be a red light..... hahah

The freeway near my house is wide open. I got to 140 between off ramps.

If this jinx's it I'll let you know.
