Default Quietest exhaust

In a heads/cam car with a big lopey cam. What would be the quietest exhaust you could use to make the car as quiet as stock or close to it? I was thingking QTP long tube headers, off road y pipe with 2 cutouts, cat in the I pipe, and a stock catback. Cutouts closed should be quiet, and with the cutouts open it should flow as good as it gets. But i have 2 questions about that.

1. Will that setup really be quiet enough to make a difference, or will it still be VERY loud?

2. With the 2 cutouts in the y pipe. WIll there be problems? Most people place their at the end of the I pipe. Would 2 cutouts where the headers end be better then 1 cutout right where the I pipe begins? I just don't want any restrictions once the cutouts are open.

You cant hide lope, especially with a big cam.

2 cutouts are overkill, people are loosing hp with them compared to a single in the I as well... So stick with a single.

The stock catback will make it quite but it will still not hide it.

I don't really want to hide it. But people sometimes feel uncomfortable driving in my car right now, because it feels very rough, and LOUD. And it's cam only with dumped true duals right now. I just want the car to be more people friendly, and be able to get the most out of it when needed.

Then I would go with LT's, cats, and the slp dual dual...with a cutout in the I of course.

Cats in the Y? If i put the cats in the y then they'll still be there after i open the cutout. And why the slp dual dual?

The dual dual is a really quite system...one of the quitest. It also flows reallllly good. Just an all around amazing catback. Could just go with an ORY as well...

Gotcha. Also. If i go with an ORY the only thing between my motor and the free air is going to be 1 muffler. I don't think that'll be quiet enough.

Do you have an after, arket cam? I'm interested to hear how it sounds. I was trying to find something on ls1sounds.com, but nothing that fits my criteria. I do believe there are people with your setup on there. Go check it out.

Definitely dual/dual. When I had that people had no idea I had a cam and you don't have to worry about it costing performance because it's one of the best flowing on the market.

So i wouldn't even need a cutout then. How does it compare to the magnaflow. I had a magnaflow a long time ago, and that thing flows great.

That's a center mount exhaust kit...It's a separate product.

I believe someone only picked up 2 or 3 hp with a cutout over the dual dual. So it flows pretty damn good. I would just throw the cutout on for the sound myself.

I agree. I run B&B Triflo exhaust, it's pretty damn quiet. There's nothing better on the street than a cammed car that's quiet as hell, until....

But seriously, of everything I have, it still makes me smile when I open it up, other's reactions only add to the fun of it...

Dual Dual is most definitely what you're looking for in a quiet catback. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Even with LTs and ORY, it's still pretty whisper quiet at idle and not very loud at WOT.
