Locker owners inside
I have a 9" with a 35 spline locker. Are any of you having weird driving problems? I am not talking about the noise and the clunking. Are any of you experiencing a problem where the rearend "sways" a little when you first tap the throttle after changing gears? During hard acceleration it does not happen. Only during wussy-type driving where I do not get on it. The rearend kinda shifts to the passenger side a little.

Crap. Looks like I might be selling a 9" with a locker. I can't stand that shimmy/movement. Does it have anything to do with gear lash? I cannot imagine being stuck in the rain with this rearend.

It has to do when you make the shift, one of the axles momentarily disengages , as you tap the throttle, all the torque is diverted to one wheel momentarily. That is the sway or pull you feel. Then the the axle is reengaged and and the sway is stopped as you have power to both axles.
You can disassemble the locker and put a heavier spring on both sides for more static bias .
