Question Searching for information on a good Torque Converter

Hey guys,

I have a TH400 on a Turbo T/A making 750+ RWTQ and RWHP. The converter that I have is stalled for 2800 RPM and the people that I got it from said they made it as tight as they can. Still will not hold the power. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Hooter306

Subscribing.

Why do you say it will not hold the power?

The auto turbo mustang guys all rave about PTC converters. www.ptcrace.com

PTC is good...also dynamic and my favorite, Neal Chance...I'm running a chance and I made big power through a th400 and it was essentially locked up top end by looking at the rpm and mph graphs from the dyno...definitly a nice piece with a not so nice price tag but worth every penny in my book.

Reason is at half track in third gear I'm at 6100 RPM. I stay at said RPM through the end of the run. I am not a tranny guru, but that sounded like a converter problem to me. Third gear 85 MPH 6100 RPM, Third gear 115 MPH 6100 RPM. Something doesn't add up. If it isn't the converter, any other ideas?

Thanks for the info above,

Thanks for all the help guys. Getting a quote from Neal Chance. We will see if I can swing the cash. I will shop around and see what the best I can afford will be.

Thanks,
