ls1 to ls6
hey guys i was wanting to do the ls1 to ls6 conversion kit i figure with the head and intake ported and polished and a tsp cam instead of ls6 one hooked up to a true dual and some bolt ons and i should be at my goal of 500 streetable horse power with a 150 shot of n2o when i need it. upgrade the rearend ofcourse. i can get the ls6 stuff at a big discount because i work for GM. i was wondering if anyone had used and thought on power. thanks for any info. oh yea if anyone asked i could technically say "its stock except for exhaust and cam

You won't make 500 at the wheels with those heads untouched. 430-440rwhp with those heads and a RADICAL cam is possible if you have ALL the boltons.
I would go with some of TSP's heads, they have a ton of choices for incredible prices. If you can get the heads cheap, maby they can let you send the set in for machine work and come out ahead. Only way to tell is to call and talk to them about it.
Edit - you probably won't ever make 500 at the wheels with a 346" motor either
425 at the wheels, is about 500 at the motor behind a 6 speed, if you want to look at it like that. We often factor in 15% drivetrain loss with a 6-speed, and 18% with an automatic.
