You'll need o2 extenders and o2 sims. You should do true duals, not a y pipe. It may cost more but it will be worth it.

I may convert sometime down the road, but right now Im on a very tight budget. Headers will be the last thing I do to the car for the remainder of the year.
What type of tuning will I need? and How much do O2s usually run?

Pacsetters with a hooker ORY fit perfect. Clears the floorboard of the car no problem. You have a choice. Either extend the wires off the cars harness or buy extensions. The rear 02 simms will be needed if you dont want an annoying SES light. Or you can take it to someone who has edit, efilive or hp tuners to turn off the codes. I usually charge about $50 to do that.

Unless your state is tight about emissions, you wont need the AIR or EGR system(s) either, especially if you're getting an Offroad Y/X pipe. If you're getting one with cats, you can keep both systems, delete one system or both systems. Depending upon who you talk too, you'll get a different philosophy on what to keep and what to trash.

So basically if I know someone who has edit, all that I really need to get then are the headers? What does deleting AIR and EGR accomplish?

More room in the engine bay and a little less weight. Other then that, basically nothing. EGR doesnt function under full throttle so that isnt robbing any power.
WHere are you located at too? If you're around illinois, we can delete codes for you and provide you with the headers. PM Me if you need anything...

Im near Denver, CO. The guy who sold me the car has LSedit for my VIN so I just need to know what needs to be done with that program to make the headers function with my car.

deleting air and egr lets you run race style pacesetters which flow better because nothing is obstructing the flow, such as the air and egr tubes... so just have them deleted and get the race style, i think theyre cheaper too..

Will the car be driveable if I delete the AIR/EGR w.o a tune? I may have to put off the tune for a week or so.

Yes, it will cause the SES to come on but it won't effect drivability. You'll be fine until someone adjusts the codes for you.

If your uncle has an exhaust shop get him to build you a true dual setup.

I'm telling you right now, your car will run like dog **** after the install. Your A/F ratio will be all out of wack. If you can't afford a full dynotune(or looking to do a cam in the near future) buy a Mass Air Flow Translator(MAFT). It will rich/lean out your A/F ratio.

Just think of it as a band-aid for now.

Problem is is that I dont want it to be extremely loud. The car is also lowered so I may have clearance issues, also dont care for the no exhaust tip look. And again...Im on kind of a budget here. Im tryin to get a header install done before March. True Duals can always come later.

Deleting the EGR andAIR sounds like a major pain in the *** it seems. Will my car still run like crap if I keep those?

Cant afford a dynotune for the time being, but LSedit is at my disposal ...kinda. What do I need to mess around with in edit to get my car running right with/without EGR/AIR
