Default pacesetter question

I just purchased the pacesetter/ TSP y pipe combo from Texas Speed. My car is an 02 WS6. The spark plug wire is now pressed firmly against the air fitting on the third pipe on the passenger side. Is there supposed to be 2 air fittings on the passenger header? What gives?

one is for the air the other is for the egr, they must have sent you the wrong year headers??????? just cut the other off and weld it shut.... but wait for other responces cause I could be wrong, since i own a 2000. when I recieved my headers the air and the egr were on the wrong tubes and nothing would fit so i HAD to delete the egr

Mine also had two on pass. side, just deleted air & egr. Then used block off plates.

Mine were also like that and I used the block off plates. The only thing with that was that with all the rocking back and forth of the engine and the wieght of the plate made the tube break off and I had to weld it shut. If you can go ahead and cut that pipe off and weld it shut like they said earlier it might save you a headache down the road. That was my experience.

I'm not concerned with the programming, I'm concerned that the spark plug wire is going to burn up after about an hour of driving. Something tells me they sent me the wrong pipe, although I checked the part number on TSP's website, and it's correct.(72C2255)

just put a sleeve on the sparkplug wire. You can get them at advance for about 13 bucks. That is what I did on the driver side. Wire number3 was sitting right up against the header. Haven't had any problems for about 1000 miles now.

I installed the Pacesetter headers on my 2001 and there were two plates on the pass. side. I just blocked off the one I didn't need to use. As far as the spark plug wire. Exhaust won't be running through the blocked off plate so it isn't going to get as hot as the plate that actually has the exhaust running through it. My wire is touching the blocked off plate and it hasn't done anything to the wire.

Well, thanks for the replies. I think I' going to call Pacesetter tomorrow to "see what the facts is" BTW, I only received one block off plate from TSP. Should I have gotten two of them?

just cut the one off and weld that close to your plug wire and hook the air up to the other one.

Had the same problem. I was using MSD wires at the time, I called them up and ask them to make a wire 1 1/2" longer so that I could get the wire off the pipe. They sent me one for free.

the "race" pacesetter headers come with NOTHING at all...no Air,no Egr nothinggg lol. i have them on my car and its straight through no emissions crap in the way...does no harm to the car just throws a code which u will have to get deleted with a TUNE...thats it no biggie...The only tiny problem i did have was fitment on the drivers side i had to grind/cut a little tab off the block which was in the way to make it fit, cuz the driver header wouldnt go in at all...jus get a sawzall/saw/grinder whatever and cut it about an inch or less, its a useless chunk of aluminum... i believe its only certain year cars though...Mine is a '99..u shouldnt have any problems other than what i just told you..hope this helps...oo and have fun grab a beer lol its a headache getting everything outta there and back in
