Arrow is there something wrong with the whip??

i put my car on a lift to change my rims, i lower it back down, put the key in and try to turn thr car on but it made a rapid clicking/tapping sound and all the lights in gauge cluster where twitching on and off. 5 mins later i tuned that car back ok...was a success but it idle really high like 1500 rpm and it sounded louder like it was accelerating...turned the car right off...wait another 5 mins...this time the car started up normally and idle b/w 800-900

was there something wrong with car?

i jus bought tr55 spark plugs for my 1998 z28, would that fix the problem, car has almost 65,000 miles on it also

First thing I'd check is the battery connections/battery. When mine did the rapid clicking, along with a couple gauge sweeps it wouldn't start at all after a few tries - 2 year old battery was load tested and failed.

sounds like a flat battery. It didn't have the power to turn the engine over so the starter motor was just clikcing instead.

your biggest problem is you calling your car a "whip".

i think when these cars barely start cause of a dead batt they rev kinda high for about a minute or so to try to recharge the battery.

And when it does become disconnected. The PCM gets to relearn some stuff for a minute or so.
