Default are the internals of a 2.5 inlet and a 3 inch inlet the same

i have found a dynomax muffler from a 99 z28 and he said it was 2.5 inch inlet can i just bore the hole out to 3inches and make it work

No. There is nothing there to bore. Its just pipe. You can try to have it flared to 3" but it might split. A muffler shop can flare it a little and fill the rest in with weld but a dynomax bullet is less than 40 bucks brand new so I would just buy one if thats what you want. Even if you get the 2.5" muffler welded to 3" pipe the muffler is still 2.5" inside which kinda doesnt make sense because you still will be reducing your 3" pipe down to 2.5".

So basicly, no the internals of a 2.5 and 3" bullet are not the same. Whatever size inlet/outlet the bullet has it is a tube going all the way through the muffler that is that same size.

oh it is not a bullet just a stock replacement type for the rear
