Default How hard is it bang in the rear wheel wells?

I'm looking to put on 315 Nitto Drag radials on my lowered TA and I have a small amount of rubbing with my current 285 Nitto 555 tires therefore it's hammer time. Before I get the car jacked up, how hard is it to hammer in the wheel well. Is this something where I'd be better off having the car on a lift so I can get a better swing at it (I don't have access to a lift so this would be a PITA)? Can I bang in the fender with the car on jack stands using a small sledge and some sort of metal rod to concentrate the blow to reform the wheel wheel?

Thanks for any advice!

Just get a 3-5lb sludge hammer and go to work. A rubber mallet wont do it just fyi.

Id say it can easily be done on the ground, with the jack stands on the frame, so the rear end hangs....giving you more room to hit.

If you know where your current tires rub, then hit there. Or you could put your 315's on, see where they rub, and go to work.
