Default Widened WS6 Rims Pictures

I thought I would share my adventure with some rims. I looked for a lot of examples of these rims widened, I never figured a little local shop could, or would do this nice a job. I'll take some hi res once the rims are polished up.

ah yeah, I should give a few details. The two rear ones are widened to 11". I have some 315's going on them. I had some custom 1" spacers made, and relocated the bump stops. They cost $150 each to get widened, but took him forever (3 months). Normally would be $200 each. The spacers cost $100 each. I'll post up a pic of them. The clear coat has been removed and I'm going to have the inside powder coated gloss black. Picture in a few weeks. hopefully everything fits together.

I was looking to get my rear 10 spokes widened to 11" in the rear so I could put a 315 on the back. Where did you get this done and do you need to use spacers or can they somehow widen them so you dont need them?

So how is the shine now that the clear coat has been removed? Does it look a whole helluva lot better?

Not a bad idea, mine is a dialy driver so I mainly mod for looks. I might have to look into that. That might make up for the 20hp I'm going to lose trying to turn those big *** 11" rims and 12 bolt.

2x as shinny when the clear coat removed, and I haven't even polished them yet.

Got mine done at a local shop in Calgary Canada. I doubt you will find anyone that can widen the rim on the outside lip. It is done on the inside. I asked about welding the spacer right on the rim hub and put in 1" longer studs, but he didn't like that idea and recomended I just use spacers.

Looks great. Defently keep us updated. 20hp seems a bit much to lose, do you really lose that much horsepower on 11inch rims on the rear?

Those look nice. I'd love to have a set widened to 11" for the rear and narrowed for the front.

because it takes more power to rotate a larger mass. rotational mass is something like 7:1 on static mass.

That's right but I think it's more like 8:1 but either way no big deal. The fact that you are putting more rubber on the ground should make up for the hp loss.
Also let us see some pics wiht them on the car when ya can.
