Default HELP!Good pedal pressure but can't shift into any gear from a stop.

I did a search but did not find anything I was looking for, Can some one help me out and tell me whats wrong? My car just started doing this and It's starting to get worst. Double clutching does not work at all, I have good pedal pressure like before but can't shift into any gear from a stop, I also have to shut the car off be for I can shift the transmition into any gear, my shifting feels notchy when It starts to do this. I have no issues with the pedal sticking to the floor when I go wot eather, I dont have much play at the upper end of the pedal and have pressure on the pedal all the way to the floor but one thing I noticed was that when I let off about two inches off the floor on the pedal the clutch starts grabbing a little. Doing this seems to make the transmition want to go into gear more. sorry this is soo long but does anyone know whats going on? thanks in advance.

You could have a broken spring in the clutch disc that made the disc a little cocked so that it still wants to spin the input shaft even when the clutch pedal is all the way to the floor. I had this happen in my old car. And have seen it a few other times.

When you put the car in gear with the engine off and then crank it does the car start moving? If not, with the car in 1st where in the pedal travel does the car start moving?

Not at all, I think I have a bad clutch though now because when I let the clutch dragg a little it starts to work and feel ok again, I guess It's time to put that Spec stage three clutch and flyweel that Ive had under by bed for the last three years (My GF will love getting rid of that),when I bought the spec stage three clutch they were suppost to be good clutches at the time, I hope I did not get one of the bad one's that I hear people complaining about.

I think your pilot bearing may have taken a **** on you. Check one more thing... Put the car in 1st and rev it up to 5k or so and see if the car lurks forward. If the car lurks forward its the clutch, if it doesn't its the pilot bearing. If your going to change the clutch it's always a good idea to change the pilot bearing while your in there regardless of if it's bad or not.

Thanks for the info, I'll definatly look into it, Im suprized the clutch has lasted as long as it did, now I got to find out how to get the pilot bearing off on the LS1's, I here you cant use the old pound it out with the shaft and grease method.

I had same problem, pilot bearing went out, $350 to get replaced. My clutch was ok, get a good tech to take it for a drive to determine the problem.

I have been told not to use the grease method on LS1 cars. There is a oil plug behind it you could pop loose.

Go to Autozone and rent a "Blind hole puller set". You'll run a good risk of pushing the oil plug in the crank loose otherwise.

I'm having the same problem. Was the pilot bearing the issue?
