Default Help - SES light and Directionals don't work!

Ok, I believe the two are unrelated, but for the last few weeks, I've been getting an SES light about once a week for a day or two then it goes out. Today, I was driving and the SES light came on and within a couple of seconds I turned on my directional, and it was no longer working. Both left and right directionals are inop. Hazard lights work and so do brake lights. I checked the fuse on the directionals and it's good, so I don't know what the problem is.

First, could the SES and directional problem be related?
Second, could the switch in the steering column have died?
Third, what else could be causing the problem with the directionals?

I know I need to get the car on a code reader (tough to do in Germany) for the SES light issue so I'm not going to bother trying to diagnose that here, but I was hoping someone else had this directional problem.

Thanks,
Scott
