D1SC oil change questions??
I got my D1SC from procharger the other day, I am very HAPPY .
Heres a Few questions that I have. I know the D1 is the headunit where you tap the oil pan, and the D1SC is the Self Contained unit.
How hard is it to change the oil in the charger. From what I seen, I loosen the top bolt (beside the serial number and prochager stamp) and pore the 6oz bottle in the charger and when it is time to drain I losen the bolt on the bottom to let oil out.
I should change the oil at 500 miles and then at every 6000 miles or every other oil change. My kit came with 3 bottles of Procharger oil
The D1 headunit you have to drill and tap the oil pan, so if your motor goes your charger does too.
Is there any real benifit for having a D1 over a D1SC??
I can't think of one Pro to having a D1 over the self contained setup

The self contained system from ATI ProCharger does indeed eliminate having to plumb into the engines oil pan for a return line, plus it eliminates any chance of oil contamination from one to the other. In my own car, I added an ATI ProCharger to an engine that had 110,000 miles on it. I wouldn't of wanted to be running oil from a 110,000 mile engine into a brand new blower, who knows what was floating around in there...
I don't see any negatives to the SC system myself, other than you do want to change the oil every 6,000 miles. You can even draw the oil out of it like they do on boats, with a little electric pump right out of the oil fill hole. We do this on the Nissan 350Z ProChargers, as it is hard to get to the oil drain hole. Bob
