Default Oil Breather Filter

NooB Question perhaps but..

I am looking at getting one of these:

My question is.. Does this actually improve performance in any way, shape, or form?

I'm getting it because I think it looks nice, and it's fairly cheap. I just want to know the mechanical reason for it. It seems to me that on an LS1 it would be just for show with little gains or advantages, if any.

Thanks in advance.

It won't do anything for performance.
If you delete the pcv system you remove clutter and you don't have oil in the intake. You then have a breather to ventilate the crankcase pressure. That's what a breather does.

So that's something I havn't done.. deleting the PCV system. My guess is that in California, if I do that.. the car won't be street legal. I actually saw it on your car pictures, and liked it, is why I looked into it. lol.
