Default And then there were 4....

Choices are:

1. Kumho ECSTA ASX- 420 treadwear rating, 83 bucks a pop. Read a few reviews on these and most people had good things to say about them.

2. Sumitomo HTR+ - 360 treadwear, 81 bucks a pop.

3. Yokohama AVID V4S- 500 treadwear rating, I would imagine you would get quite a few miles out of these. 97 bucks a pop.

4. Falken Ziex-512- 360 treadwear rating, 74 bucks a pop.

So far I am leaning towards the Kumho's, simply because I have heard the most about them. I am looking for a tire that will give me quite a bit of mileage and decent grip. The car will probably only see the track 1-2x a year. The car an A4 LT1, with catback and intake. It also is my DD. Previous tires are Yokohama AVS ES 100's. I didnt rotate them like I should, and probably only got about 15k miles out of the rears. Fronts are still in good condition though. The Es100's gave me really good traction on the street, only thing i didn't like that much was they were so soft the wouldnt really make noise when I would spin tires haha. BTW, if you havent figured it out already, i'm on a budget (college)

well I have falken Ziex 512's and I they are a good tire...I have only put about 3k miles on them being I am on my winter tires now but in those miles I was very happy with them...

I read good things about the kuhmos and the Yokohama's when I was looking for new tires, and just decided to go with the Falkens.

oh one more thing, I just went on discounttire.com and the kuhmos you have listed there don't come in the factory size 245/50/16 and neither do the yokohamas...what size tires are you looking for??

I blew a tire on my lunch break the other day(goodyear eagle F1's). So I bought a set of Falken 512's from a friend who owns a tire shop. $507 for the full set! 275/40/ZR17's mounted and balanced. I believe mine have a 300 treadwear rating though...

New tire's- Got the pic off their website
