Default Z06 Maf

Looking for an 85mm MAF. I was lokking at GMS 85mm or Z06 conversion kit. My question is do these MAF have a bigger sensor then the stock one or does it have it the same size as stock. I need a sensor and bigger houseing that not just has less restricted housing but bigger sensor that will read all incoming air before I dynotune mycar

2000 SS with Trex fast 90/90 but has stock MAF

I'm not sure what you mean by a "bigger sensor". If you put a Z06 MAF on your car it needs to be calibrated to read correctly. That can be done with electronics or by changing your PCM's MAF table. Most people tune the MAF table as an electronic fix is not going to be as accurate on a car with lots of mods because the MAF table becomes less accurate as you move away from stock.

I guess you want the larger hole to go with the
other larger hole, you will need a pigtail or adaptor
harness (see Casper's) as well as the proper table
put into your tune file. I've posted them here before
and you might want to grab a copy to take with you
in case your tuner doesn't have them handy.

Ls1speed sells a conversion kit. Right now I have a ported mass air flow housing. but if I put it on that means some airflow won't get metered. I need a bigger housing along with a bigger sensor. jimmy blue has the right idea.

That way in putting it on it will be off but not that much sense full airflow is being metered. I do intend to tune it later but just looking at what mof I can do next.
