Default F-body LS1 different from Vette LS1?

I heard that the corvette engine(C5) has a different firing order, and i'm wondering where does the extra 20hp come from, etc.

So is the vette LS1 a completely different engine from a 98-02 fbody engine? What are the differences that I should know about? Thanks

They're exactly the same. GM just fibbed a little with the advertised HP numbers to keep the pecking order in line. Behold:

Yeah, the f-body and the C5(not the zo6 of course) are pretty much the same. the vette is lighter with better handling, but the engine is the same. GM doesn't want the f-body to step on the vette's toes, because the vette is their staple, so the f-body is rated lower than it actually is. I'm not an expert on this though, so if someone sees that im wrong about something feel free to correct me.

Actually the corvette has a different cam, although it's not much different. It also has an ls1 intake without egr provisions for certain years. All this aside, the corvette and the f-body will dyno very similar.
