Accidently stumbled upon Dex-cool suit
I was reading some news, when my eye caught a Google ad... Dex-cool lawsuit, dont know if its old news though. If it is then please delete it.
I thought that Dex-cool only went bad when mixed with different coolants?

Problems generally arise with dexcool when a substantial amount of air gets into the system.....like running it low on fluid.
I've had dexcool in my GM cars for 10 years now. It has not caused any clogging or corroision issues in my case. I keep it changed regularly though.
Personally, I wouldn't wait 150K to change ANY type of coolant though. Only thing GM did wrong with dexcool, IMO, was recommending a 150K change interval....that's way too long.

Alot of people I know call it DEX-CLOG. I have had no problems with it. Mine gets changed annually. I change my brake fluid annually as well.
Overkill car maintenance means I have none of these problems most people talk about with fluids and what not.
BTW: Ever notice that Dexcool smells like animal urine of some sort after being used for awhile? Foul...

My wifes blazer has really had a hard like because of it.
Inside the rad cap it was a dark brown sludge that looked awful. It has taken out the water pump, several t stats, the actual t stat neck has rusted all the way through, and now the heat wont work, possibly a clogged heater core.
