Default 508/452 on a stock 6.0 shortblock! my new dyno results!

Combo is stock 02' 6.0 from a 2500 truck
PATRIOT stage 2 LS6 style castings, with our additional work on the intake (flow 331)
Our custom cam (246/248)
FAST 90/90/ 85mm MAF&lid
ASP,shortbelt, alumn flywheel, almn. driveshaft
9inch w/4.57s, 25/11.5/16 ETStreets on stock wheels,
91 octane pump gas.
This is a dynojet, SAE corrected. I picked up fron 489/447 with the changes being: kooks 1 7/8 from pacesetter 1 3/4, shortbelt, and my re-calibrated ported 85mmMAF.

Still cant find why it drops off so hard at 6700, then bounces back.

I would guess the cam is too big for the motor C.I. and the compression ratio...but those are unknown. So, again...just a guess.

Great numbers. Are the pistons notched? What's the compression? Cast iron block I assume.

Thanks for the props. It did hit my goal. However I did expect more of a gain from the KOOKS. And I expected the car to be a little more peaky with the cam.
Heads are 59cc, so compression is about 11.5. It comes out about the same as the 346, due to the dished pistons.
The pistons have a very small knotch, and unfortuneatly the block is iron, not an ls2. Its a 500.00 core from a junkyard. I knotched the pistons, put in some ARP rod bolts

Thumbs up

In regard to that dip in the graph @ 6700, what kind of valvesprings? Maybe they're not workin' too well at the upper R's and gettin' some harmonic issues, valvefloat, or lifter bounce causing that dip.

Damn nice numbers for a $500.00 6.0 though.

I just finished rebuilding my 01 6.0(LQ4) and was looking at getting thaose exact Patriot heads. You just sold me on them!

So you're saying a stock ls1 and stock LQ4 piston is the same dish? Looks like the 59cc chamber is the way to go.

Is it safe to assume you'd see similar results on a LQ9 with the same mods?

thanks. I think the power is respectable, even compared to most 402/408 combos.
Those heads are awsome, especially for the cost. Ive put down 470+ on stock 6.0s, as well as 5.7s with the stage 2s out of the box, with about 10 degrees less cam than I have.
Def. go with the 59cc chamber.

how much timing were you able to get away with on 11.5:1 and is this on pump gas as well.

I run about 28 deg max timing, and yes it was on 91 octane pump gas.

wow!! I'd love to take a look at that tune. Only reason I ask is that I have my 408 setup at 11.84:1. I'm only running 15-16* now until i get the car dialed in and is being tuned with 93 pump gas.

Im really liking your low budget approach to making power. You should have put your ported ls2 intake on there just to see the difference man. I'll be doing business with you guys very shortly.

Out of curiousity, what did the intake runner cc out to with the additional port work? And who's hood is that? Looks hella mean.

I agree, I wonder what diff running 93 would do, it looks like it flattens out before 6.5K and holds until you can't feed it enough at 6.7K--I'm also amazed you are able to get so much max timing on 91 with that CR--congrads on a hell of a buildup for minimum bucks the c5 forum could do with some of the budget tips for sure--
