Default Tires Or Rotors

Hey guys right now my eagle f1 gs-d3's have like 25% tread on them and need replacing. Looking at Nittos.

I'm on a tight budget and I also need brakes and rotors too. I was wondering the the Bendrix ones are any good. Looking to get 1 of these

Now should I get the tires or the rotors and pads. The rotors on mine are warped as i feel a slugging when i let off the brakes till i accelerate

Damn. That's a hard call. Both of them will keep you from busting your *** or someone elses.Unless the brakes are really screwed,I'd have to vote tires.

Unless the brakes/rotors are essential, do the tires right now.

Tough call. I'd run the tires down lower than 25% though. If the rotors are warped and the brakes are still good I'd vote for the tires. Just get some brembo blanks and some hawk pads and a nice set of cheap tires so you can have both.

Get autozone or advanced auto rotors should not be much. The only time rotors will cause a problem is when y r braking by the way. They are cheep. u should replace tires if they r to bad.

Hawk pads are a waste of money IMO. I've tried a few different kinds and I'd go with the Wagner Thermoquiets... for $40ish at O'Reilly.. it's a pretty good buy.

If you have any need or desire to brake quick they are not a waste of money. My car brakes waay better than my old camaro with stock pads. There is seriously a huge difference.

Rotors 1st I had the same problem with my truck few months back and trust me the tires can wait.
Having no tread sucks but having no brakes blows a big one.

i drove for yrs. on my stock rotors after they warped.

i just avoided hard high speed braking. if theyre real bad have them done first since you still have some trad left. just be careful in bad weather.

anyone who says tires needs to put things in perspective. the longer you wait to get brakes/rotors the more damage you going to cause to the entire braking system of the car. greatest tires in the world wont help you if your breaks lock up instantly because of warped rotors. go with brake pads/ rotors.

I disagree. The Theroquiets while being quiet and low dusting suck for hard emergency or performance braking. They hate braking at highway speeds and easily fade where as the Hawks take it and continue to brake well. I'd rather pay another $40 and have pads that won't fade on me during a panick stop on the highway. Better yet, just get some Axxis pads.

It takes a good bit of time to warp rotors that badly.

Like I said your best bet is to get some tires, hawk pads, and some brembo blanks. They are cheap and will complete both of your problems.

I voted rotors. What good is it to have nice tires if you cant stop worth a damn because you have sub standard braking components.

Fix the brakes and drive more conservative until you can get new tires.

Have you had Hawke Pads before? If so, which ones?

I have had the Hawke HP pads on both my 01' TA and 99' Firebird and they worked great. I even tried Axxis before the Hawke on the 01' and decided I like the Hawke better.

If you have tried Hawke before then I wouldn't mind more info on these Thermoquiets if you have a link.

But, I would still highly recommend Hawke.

When I had BFG drag radials with 25% tread left I would have much rather had some new tires than rotors or brakes. I was floating all of the place just cruising at 40mph in the rain. Sliding everywhere. One of the scarier things I've done.

Anyhow this guy hasn't even posted back in his own thread which is wierd. Maybe he has already done something. Or just enjoys everyone arguing
